I have old style column radiators. i DO NOT see push nipples b/w sections, but looked inside and they are open all the way along top side. THEE Question IS; will the conversion to hot water work with top supplies(1″ supply pipe reduced to 3/4″ steam valves) and 1/2″ bottom returns(increased to 3/4″below floors) Or will the circulation NOT pump enough h.w. through the radiators to get the heat into the rooms?
