We are having a problem with our water smelling at one end of the house (master bathroom – both sinks, the shower, and probably the toilet). Since it’s in the master, it gets used every day. Both the cold and hot water smell, but seems to be worse in the cold water. We have a 1yr. old house that has two hot water heaters in it. Both hot water heaters are hooked together in the basement, so I don’t think the hot water tank is the problem? We have shocked the well, and that works for about 2 weeks, and then the smell is back. The only thing that seems to be different with the master bath vs. the rest of the house is that we have a pump that continuously circulates the hot water so that we don’t have to wait forever to get hot water to that end of the house (the hot water tanks are at the complete opposite end of the house). No other faucets in the house smell, so we think it may have something to do with the circulating pump? Any ideas what could be causing it, and how to correct it?

You got the water too hot, try setting pump so it dont run all the time get an aqustat on the pump. Maybe there is something in the pump.
