I don’t do abs dwv often, and this weekend I had some under-the-house work do to adding drain pipe for 3 new bathroom fixtures. I wound up with a fair amt of the tough black glue on my fingers. I’ve peeled and scraped 85% of it off, but there’s some persistent spots, smears.etc that won’t scrape or peel off.
The worst is where the glue is thin and the skin is thick.

Is there any good way to get the glue off, besides taking a belt sander to my fingers?

The best way is to wear gloves when you work with this stuff. Really, the solvents in plastic glues are hazardous. Wear goggles, gloves, and, if in unventilated workspaces, wear a respirator. As to getting the dried stuff off your skin, soak in a tub and use warm soapy water. There are solvents you could use to dissolve the glue, but they present their own health hazards.

      Hercules hand wipes work good.

So does denaturaled alcohol. But, that isn’t good for your skin either, but it will clean your hands instantly.

plain old cooking oil… u’d be amazed on how clean your hands will get… don’t have to use much, tablespoon or so… then wash with reg soap and water.
