I installed my own Electric water heater. I filled it, but when I turned he power on. I could hear the water boiling inside the tank, and then I remembered that I didn’t vent off the air in the system. I went upstairs and opened the faucets and after a minute or two, water came out …cold.
I checked the reset and the breaker…the wires from what I see, weren’t damaged. Then I had to leave for work before I could check any further.
Have I damaged the water heater? How long will it take for a new 66 gallon heater to heat up? Could I have damaged the elements? the liner?
I’m considering taking it back and lying by telling the supplier that it was defective from the factory…what would you recommend? -
I dont think you did any harm unless there was no water at top elements they might have burned out.
