KeymasterAny and all suggestions, thoughts, or theories welcomed!
We have a 30 yr. old home on slab in Phoenix. Approximately 2 years ago we had hot water pipe leak under slab. We had that section of hot repiped in attic and walls. Three weeks ago we had a cold water pipe leak. Again, we repiped that section of cold through the attic. Last week we found another cold water leak. We repiped that and now KNOW we must repipe the remainder of the pipe under the slab.
Obviously, I’m fearful that we will have another leak before we get it all repiped. With the heat this time of year we need to wait for Fall for the attic to cool off a bit. What could be causing two leaks within 3 weeks? Someone mentioned to me that it could possibly be because our home is grounded to the cold water pipes? But, it has been this way for 30 years. I had our power company out yesterday to make sure that everything on their end was in order and they said it’s all fine.
I guess I should say (not sure if it’s all related or not, but it’s just one more coincidence) that I’ve got a cluster of lights that continually blow bulbs. In the case of my bathroom fixture, there are four bulbs, they sometimes flicker and the switch has, in the past made a crackling noise when turning it on.
I’m just perplexed and am hoping someone will shed some light on this. Sorry to be so long, but thanks for taking time to read and make suggestions.

ParticipantThere are many causes of pinholes leaks in copper tubing. And the time it takes them to eat rough varies widely; from just a few years to many. The cuaes are acidic water or soil, electric grounds and your electric gorund electrode, certain bacteria, dissimilar metals, soldering flux, non-reamed tubing ends (erosion), high DO, CO2, chlorides and TDS and lightening strikes. I think I have them all.
The electrical (and water company guys) tend to fib bu saying what you heard but…. you seem to have an electrical problem that needs t obe checked out by an electrician.
