I need to remove the washer utility tub to make more room in a small first floor laundry. ( I prefer to find a tub which is 16 inches wide but have not had any success). How do I plumb the washer hose directly into the drain pipe?

You need a 2″ pipe are bigger with a trap and vent about 30″ above floor.
