can someone help me locate a leak that is coming from under the base board in the closet…. just to give u an idea of my layout, the water heater is 2 yrs old and its located in a pantry closet.. i checked the water heater and its fine not leaking at the bottom…. but the 2 pipes that go into the wall is in a partion separating the bedroom closet and bathroom that is never used as a shower… behind the wall on the bedroom closet side water is slowly seeping under the baseboard….. what do i do, make a hole in the wall to see if the pipes in the wall that go to water heater are leaking……. by the way since i bought the water heater i never connected the relief valve to the drainage pipe, could this have caused pressure on the 2 pipes connected to the water heater and caused a leak…… please respond as soon as u can…….. thanks Alex

You will have to cut hole in wall to find the leak. The relief valve not being piped to drain has nothing to do withit. Try about 1/2 way between pipes in wall and floor.
