        Hello

I have been living in my house for about 6 years and always year a ticking sound in the walls when using the upstairs bathroom sink. The sound is behind the sink and the sound accelerates when I continue to use the hot water. Sometimes I hear the sound with the cold water, but more often with the hot water. I have never seen a leak anywhere in six years. What could this be? Could it be a leak? If so, wouldn’t I have seen the walls leaking by now?

        Thanks, Mark

Sounds could be hot water pipe expanding and the hole in the studs is to small and it moves back and forth to make noise. Cld will do same.

It is ticking – is it a bomb??????? nope just the pipes contracting and expanding within the wall cavities – nothing to be greatly allarmed over – just poor plumbing techniques when the pipes were first fitted is all.
