I replaced the toilet ‘re-fill’ valve with American Standard’s Smart Valve because we heard hissing and found that the previous valve wasn’t shutting off completely. The new Smart Valve fixed the shutting off problem fine. But now, when the valve does shut off, there is a loud knock from the pipe in the walls. There was no knocking until I replaced the valve. Is it the valve or an indication of another problem that coincidentally appeared?
