Our garbage disposal is throwing up instead of swallowing down!!

Please help as I am at the end of my rope and up to my ears in unwashed dishes!! My husband took apart the disposal, snaked the drain and still, nothing. Whenever you turn on the disposal to get rid of the water in the sink, it just spins it down and once shut off, pushes water back into the sink. If you leave the water in the sink, it eventually goes down. Please help as I am losing it!! THanks in advance.

Sure sounds like you have a blocked or partially blocked waste pipe somewhere’s en route to the sewer line or other disposal main.
Better to call in an expert to ensure everything is correct and properly undertaken there – a few bucks now will save heaps in the future.
