        why does my electric hot water heater keep blowing fues it is only about five years old

          That is a long time for an electric water heater. It is time for a new heating element to be installed.

            Just a pet peeve, but the term, “hot water heater,” is illogical. “Water heater” is the correct term. “Cold water heater” would also be more correct but clumsy.

              Strange answer above I reckon – cause if an element blows usually so does the fuse feeding the circuit so maybe I am reading this wrong and perhaps the householder is continually feeding in new fuses that are continually blowing – geez that is mind blowing but alas there are some folk that would do that I guess.
              If a thermostat went faulty it can also have the same outcome, however it is mostly the element that is the culprit in 90% of the instances we attend.
