I may just be paranoid but … There’s a small stream of water coming from the bathtub faucet. I just discovered the problem and hate to call my landlord until morning. It’s nearly midnight. My worry, besides the cost to my gas and water bills, is … Is there any danger of the gas water heater overworking during the night because of this leak and catching fire, etc. It’s hot water that is making the stream from faucet. It’d estimate it’s leaking about 1/2 gallon an hour.

No, turn water off at heater if you are worried are put in washer.
