        I’ve got a strange problem. We are having a bad odor eminate from only the bathtub drain and bathtub overflow.
        Backround; Our septic tank was backing up into the house, so we had it pumped out. Now there is the constant odor coming right out of the bathtub drain + overflow. It is very frustrating. We have repeatedly flushed and bleached the overflow and drain to no avail. If there is any insight that you could impart, it would be greatly appreciated.

          Without seeing , it sounds like your losing the trap seal ,maybe you have a clogged vent from your backup causing tub trap to siphone when toilet is flushed

            If I am losing the trap seal can I [joe blow handyman] fix it or do I need to call a plumber?

              Jan, with do respect , call a qualified plumber ,with a drain and vent system health risks are of concern, Mike
