Difficulty turning bath faucet on and off

I have a moen single knob faucet in the tub. I am having a great deal of difficulty pulling it on and pushing it off. It will turn off and on completely. It doesn’t appear to want to slide along the shaft easily. What can I do to make it easier to use?

you could remove the stem ,first turning water supply offnd lubricate the stem ,or just replace the stem with a new one,or call a plumber if you dont think your sure of how to remove or replace it.If you replace the stem, most likely to do,take the fct.series number to plumbing supply to get the right one first ,the new stem comes with complete instructions
