        I recently replaced the fill valve in my toilet. Afterwards I noticed a slight leak near the knob that turns the water on/off. I tightened the nut that is right behind the knob and the leak went away. Now I have a banging in the pipes. It happens about 5-10 minutes after I turn the water on at the toilet. It will happen even if I don’t flush the toilet at all. Has anyone ever seen this?

          Try openning the valve all the way, it might be open a little and is vibrating the washer if it is loose. It could be the ballcock too.
