I did laundry today. (next to the washing machine is a laundry toom sink; we’re also on a septic system, which was pumped one year ago and the filter changed two months ago) When I went to put the clothes in the dryer, a terrible smell hit me. I wouldn’t say it was sewage, but it was awful and I can’t describe it. It looked like water came back up the sink drain. The drain trap had hair and glop in it, so I cleaned that and put some baking powder down the drain, which helped, but I’m rather nervous about doing another load. Can someone tell me what happened and what I should do? Thanks!null

Sounds like drain is partly stopped and you used a soap that suds alot and it backed up, get drained cleaned out and use a soap with less suds.
