Hi, I’m new here and readily admit I know absolutely nothing about plumbing (hence my screen name). I have an upstairs toilet (Gerber) which when flushed causes the pipes to make a loud banging noise. Is there anything I can do to remedy this? It’s been doing this for several years, and well, I came across this board and thought I’d ask.

Sounds like you have a bad ballcock, get it replaced. Thats where water comes into tank with a float on it.
