When you turn on the cold water in our bathroom sink, the pipes make a banging noise and no water comes out until you turn the water way up. How can I fix this?

Mr kingstk. Call a licensed plumber as you have the first stages of a terrible degeneration of your plumbing.
A licensed plumber will be armed with the apropriate equipment to dignose your problem & give you imediate reliefe.
Should you delay though, you could have this problem spread throughout your plumbing as it is contageous to the point of being unstoppable without interferance.
I urge you to immediatly pick up the phone & call your local LMP for immediate relief & peace of mind.

Sounds like you have a loose washer in the faucet.
