Help! My copper pipes have been tied to the rebar in my foundation. I was told electrolysis occured and my pipes broke down and caused 2 slab leaks in the past 6 weeks. Is there a reliable test that can be done to see if there are other spots the copper is tied to the rebar? [email protected]

More than likely your copper pipes were not properly insulated. If they are coming up through the slab and they aren’t insulated then they will react to the concrete also. It is an expensive suggestion, but you may consider a repipe job.More than likely this will happen again and the money you spent on fixing the leaks could have been spent on repiping your house. Make sur you get several estimates and ask what will be included in the repipe. [email protected]
