I have a house that is about 100 years old. It was a boarding house at one time. Sometime in the 70’s some one put in a dreaded harvest gold cast iron bath tub in the third floor bath. Narrow stairs will not let me take it down the stairs. I would like to remove it and put in a large shower unit. My question is “can I just smash the heck out it and take it out in pieces”? It could be thereputic!

Sure can.I would suggest wearing saftey glasses and laying a heavy blanket or tarp over it before breaking it up cause the enamel finish is like glass and flies everywhere and you could get hurt from it.Be careful.
