I have a condo that has an upstairs loft. in the loft ther is a closet with the heater and the hot water heater. Well it’s time to replace the hot water heater and sears comes out to do this. they tell me since it’s located upstairs in living quarters they have to put a diffrent P&T valve on it and thats gonna cost me another $185. hat is this diffrent type of valve and why is it so freakin expensive?
I never heard of that before, I think they are trying to make a buck, you should have a drain pan under heater and a drain on it run indirectly to a fl. dr below.Check with your local Plumbing Insp.
