We are trying to replace the cartridge for a Moen positemp shower. The ‘twisting tool’ won’t turn the old cartridge and we ended up pulling the center stem right out of it. Any tips on getting the old one out? (it is only 6 yrs old, we are sure we removed the retaining clip – but it won’t budge)

try using vise grip needle nose pliers you have to turn the old cartridge to break the old o-rings grip
