Hi There, my central heating is quite old and doesn’t have a thermostat. None of the radiators have thermostats fitted either. The timer for my central heating has died and i was wondering how difficult it would be for me to install a thermostat in the hall and one on each radiator in the house myself. Is this something a fairly competant DIYer can do or is a qualified plumber a must. I’m totally skint so paying loads of cash for this isn’t an option.

Also, is it quite streight forward just to replace the timer ?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

You are saying that there nothing within the system to stop the water within the radiators from getting hotter and hotter until something dangerous is gunna happen??? I somehow doubt that – best you cann in a qualified Plumber to check this weird installation out properly before you attempt to change any of the devices fitted.
