I would like to replace my water heater elements. There are two 4500W screw in type elements, both elements show signs of corrosion around a portion of the nut and appear fused on with some deterioration to the nut and socket. I purchased a special element removal socket but I fear it will not survive the torque needed to break the element loose. I need some recommendation to remove the elements.

If the tool you got wont work then you will have to buy a 1/2″ drive socket (deep) 1-5/8″ are 1-3/8″ measure and see what one , when you try to take out bare down on socket hard because it has little shoulder on it.
