Ever since our dog got behind the washing machine I have had problems with it over flowing out of the drain pipe. I think that the drain is not going down fast enough or that the drain hose is moving around when it drains. The drain pipe is on like a 35 – 45 degree angle. My question is can I replace it and have it in a vertical position.

A problem that is not all that uncommon actually so we will attempt to guide you through it :
When the dog got behind the machine is is possible that it twisted the drain pipe from vertical to a 45 degree angle – so yes straighten it up.
It is also possible that it pulled the drain hose from the machine part the way out of the drain pipe – so put it all the way back in again (after you have straightened it up).
All of this is assuming that the drain pipe is still intact and not twisted under the floor and is not particially blocked with some obstruction or has been squashed 1/2 flat with a dog bite!!
          Hope this helps.
