We have traced our very low water pressure to the water softner. We put it on bypass and the pressure returns to normal. What should we check?

How bad does it get, did you empty it out and see if there is any obstruction on the cold side.Take cold water inlet side apat and see if you have plenty water, then take outlet side loose and see what you get out of it ,if it is all okay then call the co. who installed it and ask them.
