Cannot regulate water temp. Hot water flow is much slower than cold. Happened after closing supply shutoff valve. Valve washer had deteriorated. Wonder if debris moved upstream to clog Symmons SafetyMix Model “C” shower valve.
How does one remove stem???

Go to symmons web site are http://www.plumbingpartsdepot.com and look at there drawings on the valve.
