Hi. We have a strange sulfur smell coming from our water that we hope someone here will be able to help us with. About a few months ago we noticed our downstairs bathroom sink smelled like water when you first turned it on in the morning. Then a few months later it migrated to the kitchen sink. We poured drain cleaner down both sinks and we no longer smell it from the bathroom sink, but we still do from the kitchen faucet. It’s seems to be just the cold water. We had roto rooter come out and they said it was sulfur in our water since the traps were filled. How could this be if the drain cleaner eliminated the smell from the bathroom? He said we should install a cheap household water filter that you can get from home depot. Will this do the trick? We have a water softener, could it be coming from there?
