I am remodeling my bathroom and I am installing a mud shower. I have just installed the PVC clamping drain and now realize that there is a better one to use.

I am trying to see what is the best way to cut/remove the old drain and cut the 2″ pipe from the ptrap level so that I can install a new clamping shower drain?

Note: I do not want to destroy the ceiling in the room below so I need to do this from above.

You can get a saw wheele at Plumbing supplyhouse and put it in a drill and cut pvc on inside and pull it out.
