Converting over to baseboard heaters

Hi,

My heating system consists of a gas furnace and radiators. I am looking to convert over to baseboard heaters because the house I live is is rather small and the radiators end up taking quite some space in each room. So, is it as simple as replacing the radiators with hot water baseboards? Will I need a new/different kind of furnace? Will I have to replace all the pipes (1 1/4 inch or so)throughout the house? There is only one pipe going to each radiator and I believe I need 2 pipes to run throughout the house to allow for propper circulation through the heaters.
