I have a censible oil fired hot water heater. The hot water has that rotten egg smell. However cold water heated on the stove is not malodorous so it has to be something in the tank. The anode was changed but that did not help. Any ideas?

      Try aluminum anode rod.

I would like to know the following info and any other facts that you think may be helpful.
1.Public water supply or private well?
2.Size and type of water heater?
      3.Natural gas or electric?
4.Supplying hot water to whole house or portion?
