I have a leak that occurs only sometimes. I have deduced that this leak in the wall of my upstairs bathroom is the direct result of my girls, when waiting for the tub to fill, put their hands (or cups or anything else)close to or on the spout as the water comes out. This obviously causes a build up of pressure in the line and water drips onto my master bedroom ceiling.

My questions are these: Will this become a situation wherin the line will leak during normal pressure?
Am I safe leaving it as is as long as there is no pressure build up? As far as I can tell there is no leaking during normal pressure, and this tub is used daily.

        Thank you for your advice,
        B. Gilmer

Mr. Gilmer, Although you have properly figured out that it is when the girls take a bath, my guess would be the problem leak is in the waste piping, not the water service line, probably the overflow from the tub is loose and needs either replacing or tightening. It is an easy test to make for a Licensed Plumber.
          Good Luck,
