Wife is mad because I did not believe her..
12 yr old Dayton Electric Water Heater. First shower in morning is lukewarm at best. 15 minutes later water is piping hot and can take nice long shower hot as I can stand it. Any idea why it starts cool they gets hot? Seems exact opposite problem of everyone else.

Could be you have a faulty tap washer in the hot tap. Jams in place, after the first shower it had a chance to release a bit more and let extra hot water through.
Or are you saying that with the hot tap on only, you get a luke warm shower.
What type of hot water system do you have ?? gas instantaneous ??
