We retired and bought a condo in Charleston SC that has PB plumbing. We had a major hor water heater pipe leak and it already cost us over $1000 after ins. Is there any way to still get some restitution or help if we replumb the whole unit (3 bath rooms, kitchen area and washing machine). Or is it too late? What company invented this crap?Someone said it was a British idea. Thanks in advance,George Doerner

          How old is the residence?

I think that the pipe was named as Quest, and they did have some problems. The fittings were letting go, there were a few styles that they used Compression and crimp rings and barb fittings.
I am not sure if any compensation is still avaible. You could try looking them up.

Apparently the pb pipe we have in Australia is manufactured to a higher standard than in the US, cos we don’t have that sort of trouble here. I have used it with 100% success since it’s approval under Australian National Plumbing Code AS3500.
