The bathtub stopper (in the overflow pipe) doesn’t work. I removed the cover screws but the stopper doesn’t lift out of the overflow pipe. I think it’s corroded in place? Is there some way to free it without removing the overflow pipe?

Easy remedy,
Get a wire hanger make a small hook shape then feed it down your over flow and you can snag the stopper very easily.
Then gently retrieve it.
