I have a one-piece fiberglass tub and surround area. I want to replace my currnt faucet and shower head with more fashionable ones. A handyman told me it could not be done without removing the entire tub and surround. Is this true?

Possibly, but what type of valve do you have, single handle, two handle or three handle. And what is the brand?
