My neighbor has been told by a plumber in our area that her house has plumbing involving Polybutelene pipe produced by Shell Oil some years ago. He also told her that there was a lawsuit involving the removal of this pipe. Is there anyway to find out more aboout this so-called lawsuit? Thank you for any info you may have.

The only critical question is how old is the house. If it is less than 13 years old, (11 for a mobile home), and had leaks during the first 12 years, (or 10 for a MH), then you are covered.

One other item. If you live in any type of development where all the homes were built at the same time, then you probably also have it.
