In a pitless installation what is the best solution to attach the upper end of the safety rope.

Connect it to the well seal, but I hope you mean “wire” and not “rope”.

Yes, I mean safety rope. Replacing a safety rope in a submersible pump installation with a wire (rope) is not a wise choice. The safety rope is necessary in case the pitless connector or the pipe string breaks, If that hapens the only way to retrieve the pump is with the saftey rope that should be non-corrosive. If the safety rope is attached to the well cap (in a pitless installation a well seal is not used) the weight of the sump would make it difficult to open the cap.
