How do I replace a flapper on a toilet? It now has one with a chain which seems to be attatched to the flapper itself. This is a keychain type chain which keeps breaking. Can just the chain be replaced, or should the flapper be replaced too?

If the chain breaks it can be repaired. If it is pulling out of the flapper then you have to replace the flapper. But the first thing to do is find out why it is breaking. The usual reason is that the chain is too short and/or the handle has a long travel arc, which “stretches” the chain when flushed and eventually pulls the chain apart.
