I’m not getting enough water pressure from my well pump to the house or irrigation system. I get 20 pounds of pressure in the house when my sprinkler is running and about 30 pounds when nothing is running. Shower water turns hot if anyone flushes a toilet or uses a sink, etc.
The pump company won’t help me with the water tank/regulator and the tank/regulator guy won’t talk about the pump. I need the big picture.
A 1″ PVC pipe runs from the pumphead to the house (50′) with a 1.25″ PVC pipe coming off the 1″ pipe 1 foot from the pump head. Six 1″ irrigation valves are about 50′ away from the pump head. The 1.25″ PVC is reduced to 1″ at these 6 valves
Should I replace the 1 foot length of 1″ PVC at the pump head with 1.25″ PVC to get more pressure and volume to the 1.25″ irrigation pipe? I’d have to replace the 1″ backflow valve on the pump head as well.
The water tank/regulator is in the garage with a charcoal filter. Can I adjust the pressure into the house from this regulator? How? Can I increase the pressure at the pump? How?
I’m thinking of sinking a comercial size well/pump to supply the irrigation system. Would this be necessary?
Where can I read up on well pumps, water tanks/regulators and irrigation systems to modify my system for optimal pressure?
Thanks so much!
