My house is approximately 100 years old and has many of the original radiators. I am in the process of
obtaining estimates on replacing the boiler and plumbing and would like to have the radiators repainted at the same time. I have a hot water system with large cast iron radiators. It has been suggested that I have them sandblasted to remove the layers of old paint then spray-painted with a high-temp paint by a professional. Of course, this will require many hours of labor and be quite expensive. Can you tell me if this is the best way to safely refinish the old radiators?
        Any other suggestions?
Please send response to [email protected].

        Thanks!

Sound advice. The end result will be pleasing.

I have in the past sprayed panel radiators with automobile spray paint with good results.

Cast iron radiators will be a more difficult.
