I purchased a Cadet toilet with SmartValve in the tank in December 2000. The valve is no longer working correctly. Sometimes it shuts off with the water level too low. Sometimes it shuts off 30 to 40 seconds after reaching the overflow tube. There are times when it won’t shut off at all until I turn the water supply off. I cleaned the rubber seal but this has not helped. Also, no help from American Standard.

Mwfoxfire,just buy yourself a Fluidmaster ballcock and replace it. American Standard not what it used to be.
