I smell sewer gas when water is running in my bathroom sinks. I thought there was something wrong with the water coming in, so I called the water company. They came out and said that it is the sewer gas in the “u” shape drain of my sinks that is coming back up when we run water. Please help with suggestions, our home is only 4 years old and we have not had any problems like this before.

Have a licensed plumber check your vents especially your vent terminal for possible restrictions.
You may also want your piping water jetted to remove any build up of debris on your drain pipe.
