water flow & pressure

We live in a mountain that is 5300 ft elevation. The water company has put a recording device on our line and, while they can see variations in pressure, they cannot explain the cause. I have heard our hot water heater making a lot of gurgling sounds and wondered if it could, in any way, affect the pressure. I have noticed that it is difficult to get enough cold water to offset the hot water flow and get a not too hot temperature. Help?

Check with neighbors if they experience same problem. If not then put a flow gague on main line comming into house. Do not use water for several hours or overnight. check flow. If no flow is indicated then perhaps a pressur tank is needed with a foot valve on the input line. It may be that the water pressure drop is due to the elevation . Any loss of maine line pressure from the service maine may be multiplying it self. Example– homes using water below your home will decrease your water pressure as you are at a higher elevation The greater the elevation difference the greater the pressure loss will be. Water dosnt like going uphill.GOOD LUCK let me know what happens Doug in the woods
