water hammering arrestor are expensive in my country because of the exchange rate and are not easily available.As the water tank is filling up the pipes vibrates and stops after the tank is completely fill up.Can anyone advice me on how to counter this problem without installing a water hammer arrestor.thank you

You can build your own water hammer arrestors. Install a tee close to the valve that is hammering. attach a length of pipe ( I like using as large of pipe as possiable and long within reason) on the vertical side of the tee. Place a cap on end of vertical pipe and your done. I have used 2 inch by 36 inch pipe on a 1 1/2 line. WORKS GREAT and it is cheaper that buying one. GOOD LUCK Doug in the woods
