The showers in both bathrooms upstairs have very low water pressure. I noticed that downstairs the water pressure is fine. Does this imply there is blockage somewhere? Will this lead to more expensive repairs later? Ive checked the shower heads and theyre fine. I also noticed there is a lot of calcium build up in the shower heads and faucets. Might this be a clue if there is a blockage problem?
Did the showers lose pressure over the years? If so maybe the pipes are clogging. The new pressure/temperature regulating shower valves reduce pressure.Shower heads have been restricted by law in the US to only 2.5 gallons a minute maximum. You could run the shower in a bucket for a minute to see how close you come to that. Sometimes when shower heads wear out, the pressure seems much less because the little holes get bigger.
