I have an electric water heater that was installed approximately three years ago by a plumber that I now cannot get in touch with. The water heater is leaking around the collar of the lower element between the tank and the collar. What is my next step to having the warranty executed in this situation? ( Like everyone else, I need the hot water today.)

I thought I gave a complete answer when you asked this question a day or two ago. Sorry if I wasnt clear. Let me try again. If the leak is covered by the warranty, any plumber can do it. But he might not want to because getting paid for the work might be difficult. But maybe you can contact the manufacturer and see if they will let you pay the plumber and then they pay you back. Many water heater manufacturers have web site with all kinds of info, including about warranty. Were you able to find the web site for your heater? If the leak is from the electric heating element seal, the warranty might not cover it (youll have to check with the manufacturer). Sometimes only actual tank leaks are covered after the first year. The manufacturer might not consider a heating element seal a tank leak.If you know where the plumber bought the heater three years ago, talk to them, they will know what you should do.I hope this helps, Don
