      What do I need to do to protect an unused, unheated home for the winter. Dont want the pipes to freeze and bust.

      Drain ALL pipes, toilets, drains etc. Dont forget the water heater. I put a small amount of anti-freez in toilets to pervent the bowels from breaking. Drain the tanks as well along with some anti freez to keep the flapper etc from damage. Using air to rid the pipes of water helps as well. Leave valves, spigots etc open just in case. GOOD LUCK
