: only part of the radiators in my house get hot, the rest of the radiator is cold. It seems to me that the water is not getting up to the radiator. Can anyone help me to figure out the problem. Robert: Most likely, your radiators are airbound and need to be bled. At the top of the radiator, at either end, you will find a valve. Some require a special key (available from most hardware stores) but many have a screwdriver slot. Open the valve and listen for hissing air. When the air is bled out, water will start to spit from the valve. You will be holding a container to catch it. Leave the valve open until the spitting stops and you get a steady stream of water. then shut the valve. Repeat for each cold radiator. This should be done routinely at the beginning of each heating season.
