I have an electric water heater that was installed approximately three years ago by a plumber that I now cannot get in touch with. The water heater is leaking around the collar of the lower element between the tank and the collar. What is my next step to having the warranty executed in this situation? ( Like everyone else, I need the hot water today.)

If the problem is covered by the warranty, any plumber can do it. Problem is, no one will want to because it wont pay much and will be a hassel to get warranty payment. Why not look on the heater for the company name and contact them via their web site. They may be able to connect you with a plumber or tell you to pay a plumber and they will repay you. Alternatively, you could replace the heating element and seal yourself.

Mark, Just reread your post. It seems to be the tank leaking, I thought it was the collar on the heating element. Contact the manufacturer or the supply house where it was purchased, they will advise. Good luck.
